Harry Potter Adult Deluxe Robe, B003O68Q0S

Harry Potter Adult Deluxe Robe, Black, Standard - 3.4 out of 5 stars from 32 customer reviews

The Mediocre Harry Potter Robe
Instead of "deluxe," a more proper adjective would be "mediocre," at best. At this price, I expected a much better product. Instead, I got this garbage that looked like a 10-year old put together. The fabric is this cheap polyester that I expect to find in an arts & craft store for school children. This robe has no lining, despite the picture. I didn't even get a clip/clasp. The Gryffindor badge is (poorly) stitched a lot lower than its suppose to be. In addition, the "lining" is pink, not the Gryffindor red. It really looks nothing like the picture, nothing "deluxe" about it. I bought this robe as a present for a friend of mine. I was furious at this quality, that I was embarrassed to gift it. I ended up getting the robe altered, but I really wanted to return this piece of garbage. The biggest waste of $40 I have ever spent.

Much less expensive than the Wizarding World version
and heavy enough to be a decent bathrobe. Length is good for an adult but arms are a little short. No pockets, nice hood. The burgandy trim area along the front is not sewn on both sides so sometimes it folds in on itself, which looks bad as the ends are not serged or finised in anyway. I sewed the burgandy trim closed, which looked much better. Also, the (unattached) "clip" that is supposed to keep the robe closed, does not hold it closed, it's more for show and you will likely lose it. Thus you'll need to sew a button or put a zip or create a belt to keep the robe closed.

For the price, it's not bad. I believe I paid here $40 last fall, Orlando Wizarding World version was $100 when we went in Sept 2010. Their version was nylon based, very well finished and quite a bit nicer.

Very substantial
I found this HP robe to be substantial, making it drape very well. The clip at the neck, however, was useless.
