Do not buy it!
So, I did it, I got it, I had to, it looked so cool. Don't do it, its a trap. It has taken major modification to come even close to being wearable. It could be the most uncomfortable thing ever worn that was not used for torture, I have the standard size. Which means that your legs must be different widths, as are your arms, since they do not match. The straps are unusable in some spots and in other the Velcro is matched wrong, as in soft and soft. Whoever did the quality control for this item should be shot. I lost out I lost my money, don't fall for the pic, learn from my mistake!
Needs alot of work!
The following is a review of the Standard Size Rubies Stormtrooper Supreme.
My dimensions: 5'8" without shoes, 42" chest, athletic build.
First the positives.
1) This is an OK costume if you're only using it for Halloween parties.
2) The black body suit has velcro straps pre-sewn into the shoulders, so the shoulder "bell" armor stays put.
3) Chest armor fit me perfectly.
4) Helmet is nice.
Now the negatives:
1) If your'e my height or less, this armor needs to be trimmed to fit for comfort and mobility. Putting it on, out of the box, I literally could not walk or climb up/down steps. That being said, you'll need to buy a Dremel or some other type of rotary tool. You'll need the plastic cutting attachment (I used the Dremel Diamond tip wheel). I cut 1" off the top of each thigh, and 1/2" of the bottoms. *** WARNING *** This procedure is potentially dangerous as you don't want a diamond-tipped Dremel slipping out of...
Don't waste your money.
Oh where oh where does one start with this disaster?
It's from Ruby's so a few things can be expected.
Ruby's is in business to turn a profit and stay in business.
Their costumes are usually overpriced and the quality is almost always garbage.
DO NOT be fooled into thinking you can buy this costume and be accepted by the local 501st.
The 501st have already stated this costume will NOT be accepted.
Now lets tackle the costume itself.
The helmet stinks.
It's way too small, the frown is way too small.
The bubble lenses, while being movie accurate are very difficult to see through.
Remember what Luke said in A New Hope....?
"I can't see anything out of this helmet"
He was right, and that's why the majority of costumer's take out the bubble lenses and replace them with flat lenses.
As for the rest of the "armor".
the chest piece comes down WAY too far, it looks like a tee shirt. LOL
NOT movie accurate...
